Anindya Garai Arrested - MMS Clip Culprit Siliguri

Anindya Garai, second-year a student of the Siliguri Polytechnic Institute was arrested for allegedly circulating the obscene MMS clip of a girl student on video sharing website YouTube. The girl committed suicide on Wednesday, October 27, 2010. The girl was a diploma student of Siliguri Government Polythechnic College. When she came to know about the MMS, she lodged a police complaint in September 2010. However, she was under the severe pressure and took the extreme step , because accused was reportedly blackmailing her as well.

This culprit boy was arrested from the Burdwan railway station in West Bengal. This boy fled to Madhya Pradesh when he came to know about girl suicide. But police came to know that he is way to West Bengal by train to meet his father as he was running short of money and was arrested when he came to receive money from his father.

JPSC Recruitment 2011 - Next Job Notification

Jharkhand Public Service Commission currently is going through grilling process, because of the scam reported in the last appointment of the candidates in the exam of JPSC 2007-08. DDA 15,000 Flats Lottery -November

The Delhi Development Authority is all set to announce and start a mega housing scheme under which 15,000 flats will be up for allotment, through the authority’s usual lottery system, across various areas in the Capital.

Sources in the DDA have confirmed to Newsline that the authority hopes to float the scheme no later than the second week of November. The authority, in August this year, had said it would announce the scheme before the Commonwealth Games in September.

Officials in the authority said with attention completely focused on the Games, the DDA could not announce the scheme in September. However, with ‘watch and ward’ or the maintenance costs rapidly piling on completed flats, the authority is keen to begin the process of allotting.

Taxation of Income from House Property

Direct tax code recently has set out many provisions which would modify the provisions in respect to ‘income from house property’ which will ease the problem of determination of income from house property along with reducing any chances of litigation in such respect to nil.

Some important points are following:

1. House property shall be charged to its owner irrespective of whether the property is let out for business purpose or any other matter. In other words, irrespective of the purpose of the house property, it will be charged under the same head, that is, income from house property.
2. If present condition is taken into consideration then, if a inseparable building is let out with the facility of plant and machinery, it will be charged under the head business income or other income, but, according to the provisions of the new tax code, it will be charged under the head, income from house property.
3. If a property is having multiple owners and the property of each individual can be determined and is ascertainable, then such shall be computed separately for each co-owner. But it should be taken into consideration that when a property is used for business or profession it would not chargeable under this head of income from house property.

ONGC disqualifies Bidding for 2 Russian Oilfields

Russia’s subsoil agency Rosnedra late last month rejected the bid of Nord Imperial for the giant Trebs and Titov fields on the given ground:

• It lacked the financial capability to develop the Arctic fields.
• Failed to present the approval of the company’s board or shareholders for the bid

Trebs and Titov is Russia’s largest undistributed fields, may hold more than 200 million tonnes of recoverable reserves. Nord Imperial, a unit of ONGC’s Russian firm Imperial Energy last month submitted an application for qualification to bid for rights to develop the 1.02-billion-barrel Trebs and Titov fields in Timan-Pechora in northwest Russia.

Though on the other hand Indian executive said these are nothing but flimsy grounds to keep competition away. Rosnedra not only disqualified Nord Imperial , but also rejected the bid of other six contenders which include Russian firms Lukoil and Gazpromneft and BP’s Russian joint venture TNK-BP for unspecified errors in their applications. As per the sources TNKBP and Lukoil are planning to challenge their disqualification in court.

Coal India Limited has its Headquarters in Kolkata. West Bengal. It produce non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.

As of March 31, 2010, it operated 471 mines in 21 major coalfields across eight states in India, including 163 open cast mines, 273 underground mines and 35 mixed mines (includes both open cast and underground mines). It also operated 17 coal beneficiation facilities with an aggregate designed feedstock capacity of 39.40 million tons per annum. It intend to develop an additional 20 coal beneficiation facilities with an aggregate additional proposed feedstock capacity of 111.10 million tons per annum. Besides this, it provides 85 hospitals and 424 dispensaries.

The date of Coal India Limited IPO is not confirmed. There is speculation that it would be priced at a 20-30% discount to its global peers, price band, is expected to be anywhere between Rs 220 and Rs 270.

However, still the final decision on Coal India price band has to come by eGoM, most probably on October 12. Continuing with its previous tendency, the government is likely to offer retail investors a concession of 5%.

Elimination in Big Boss 4

To make the reality show Big Boss Season 4 more interesting , the creative team of the Big Boss 4 has experimented a lot this time. One that shocked everyone was the 1st elimination of Big Boss season 4. The very first elimination took place on the very first day of the Big Boss 4. According to the vote Devender Singh alias Bunty the thief was supposed to exit ,but at this point Big Boss played an interesting drama and Bunty was declared the captain of the house.

However, captain Bunty did not followed the rule of Big Boss so the award given to him of Captained was taken back and was nominated by Big Boss as a candidate who would be vote out for elimination next week.

This action of Big Boss made Bunty very angry and he started using abusive language and demanded to open the exit door for leaving the show.

Big Boss asked him to come in the confession room number of times, but he did not go there and repeatedly used abusive language. Other roommates tried to calm him, but nothing was of any use. At last Big Boss was compelled to open the door of Big Boss, thus Bunty desire was fulfilled and he left the show.

His exit from the show, clearly shows that it is still difficult to mingle those people with criminal background with normal citizens. Seeing the trend it would be interesting to see the next elimination , it can be Seema , the bandit from UP who is selected by roommates for next elimination or someone else. As Bunty has left the show, so who would be next member with Seema to be on the seat of elimination next week is not clear . On the other hand Seema , who is nominated by the house mates for next elimination is very calm , which shows her maturity and her inclination to mingle with the normal world.
